Australian pet owners are choosing Fetch for their pet insurance for benefits like:
You can pay your Fetch pet insurance premium monthly with your card, with your plan automatically renewing each month.
Submit your pet insurance claim through the Fetch app, where you’ll be prompted to enter the details of your claim (e.g. claim type, uploading invoices). You can track the progress of your claim through the app, and Fetch will contact you if they need further information. Your claim can be paid directly to your vet, so you need only pay your contribution upfront. Your contribution could include your excess, the percentage of your cover that you pay, any items not covered by your plan and any amount over your 12-month limit.
If you have Fast Claim enabled with Fetch, they’ll check your pet’s medical history before you submit your claim and advise whether your pet has any pre-existing medical conditions that aren’t covered.
Fetch pet insurance can cover up to 80%, 90% or 100% of your eligible vet bills, depending on which option you choose. Your policy excess may also help to determine how much you can claim.
You can choose your treating vet with Fetch pet insurance. Adding your vet to the Fetch app can streamline the claims process, and enable your vet to check your pet’s cover and submit their bills directly to Fetch.
Pre-existing conditions are not covered by Fetch pet insurance. Pre-existing conditions can include any illness, injury or other issues that started before you took out cover, as well as any symptoms or conditions you noticed prior to taking out cover but were not yet diagnosed by a vet.
There are several waiting periods that can apply to your Fetch pet insurance. Cover for injuries incurs a 2-day waiting period, while illnesses have a 30-day waiting period. Cruciate ligament issues, Patellar Luxation, Hip Dysplasia, Elbow Dysplasia, BOAS (Brachycephalic Obstructive Airway Syndrome) and Cherry Eye attract a 90-day waiting period.
However, you may be able to waive your waiting period by sending Fetch a short video and a few photos of your pet showing that it has no illnesses or injuries.
Your pet must be at least eight weeks old to be covered by Fetch pet insurance, although you can arrange beforehand for cover to start when your pet reaches that age. You won’t be able to take out a new Fetch policy if your pet is over nine years old, but they can stay covered after this age if they’ve been continuously covered by Fetch before they turned nine.
You may have to pay an excess when you claim on your Fetch pet insurance. This will depend on the excess amount you chose when you took out your policy.
To cancel your Fetch pet insurance policy, contact Fetch through the chat function in the app. If you cancel your policy during the 14-day cooling-off period after you purchased it, you’ll be fully refunded as long as no claims have been made. Otherwise, you’ll be refunded the remaining portion of the current month’s premium.
